What type of design fees can I expect?

We offer many levels of design detail within our practice and as such the fees will be a reflection of how much input is required. As a guide a Home Design Service fee (excluding contract administration during construction) is in the order of 4.5% – 9.5 % of construction costs.

The more detail an architect provides the less chance of costly construction errors or pricing omissions by the builder. By trying to reduce professional design fees you could easily incur substantial variation to the construction price once building is underway. So please consider the whole process when engaging your architect.
